Looking for a Christmas Miracle

I am writing this looking for a Christmas miracle. But let me begin with a story, many years ago when I was a student at Queen's University, I was not registering to go on a retreat, a friend asked me why. I said I could not afford it. He then rebuked me for not asking for help. He knew I had helped sponsor other students in the past who could not afford retreats as this time I needed help and would not ask. He said by not asking I was committing a sin, the sin of robbing other of the blessing of giving. His words have always stuck with me, and though it is never easy to ask for help and I struggle every time I need to. It is indeed time to ask for help. First and foremost I covet your prayers. We are in serious need or a Christmas miracle.

As many of you know I was off work for 3 years with a shoulder injury. We are still recovering financially from that, and every time we seem to be getting caught up, we get slammed with yet another problem. Each and every time we start getting caught up something happens. This fall we have been hit three times. First We asked for help in August for my last course to finish my University degree. A number of people responded. And we borrowed the money to pay for the course. Then only about half of what people committed came in. Next Andrea lost about half of her income with three weeks notice, then they changed it to 2 weeks without warning. Next our landlord informed us he is moving back into the house and we need to move out March first.

We are in need on so many levels it is hard to imagine. Andrea is not sleeping well because of it. I am stressed to the max. I lost 40lbs this year and have no clothes that fit me. Andrea and I were out for a few weeks ago and she said I looked like a kid dressing up in his dad's clothes because of how big and loose the were on me. I constantly have headaches because my glasses are 3 years old and desperately in need of replacement. We need to come up with first and last months rent and the money to be able to move. And as it is we are barely making ends meet. There is nothing under the tree, and fortunately our kids are young enough not to notice. I am not sure there will be enough for rent at the end of the month.

We need a Christmas miracle. We need to find a place to live that fits our needs and reduces our expenses. We need to find a way of increasing our income, either through a new or different job for one or both of us. But in the short term we need help. Please consider using the paypal donate button on the left sidebar and helping us through this trying time. As I said in the beginning first and foremost I covet your prayers, because I have reached a point when I am finding it hard to praying. I spent the whole 3 years off work praying and things kept getting worse. I now have a job I love, a boss who is great but just don't make ends meet. To quote Bilbo in the Lord of the Rings, "I feel like butter spread on too much bread". Please be praying for us this holiday season.

Merry Christmas everybody. Just a quick update. We received some donations and some gift certificates. We were able to have a few presents for the kids under the tree. I have also had an eye exam and ordered new glasses. Thank you for helping and for your prayers, now we just need to find a new home to live in.

Greetings:

I am writing with a very specific prayer request. We need to come up with between $3000 and $3500 almost immediately. I know God can do it but have no idea where. All the places we have looked at are available now, Jan 1st or Feb first we are going to need to carry 1 or 2 months rent at 2 locations plus the cost of a moving van when the time comes. That is the magic number and I need you guys to be praying that it comes in. Enough came in in cash or gift cards over Christmas that we were able to get the fixins for Christmas dinner and 2 pairs of glasses (Zehrs 2 for 1) now we just need a home and money for it and the move. Everything we have looked at is between $1300 and $1500 a month plus. Please keep praying I am stressed to the max and have been fighting with Andrea over this. Things are not good right now, feel major attack.
