Updated 2016-04-13

This post has been redacted because of personal conviction. I would appreciate if you say a prayer for me.

Oh, Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
Oh, Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most Loving of Fathers.
Oh, Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.
Saint Joseph, Patron of departed souls – pray for me.
Amen

Be A Prayer Warrior And Use Words Wisely - Glenn Langohr

Be A Prayer Warrior And Use Words Wisely:
30 Declarations and Prayers To Speak Victory Into Your Life
Glenn Langohr
Sanctified Publishing
AISN B00F1M2QAY
ISBN 9781492370468

I was actually browsing the Kindle story for prayer books by Stormie Omartian when this one caught my eye. Words do have incredible power, the words spoken over us, the words we speak to ourselves in our heads; the words that become our reality in our day to day life. But those words can hurt, cripple and destroy or they can be words for life. Now to be honest over the last 25 years I have read numerous books on prayer, and books of prayers. There is not much new in this volume. But it is written with such straight forward faith and devotion. It will encourage and challenge you. You will find some of the prayers speak directly to you that day and will speak them aloud a number of times. Others will be prompted to share with others or to pray them over friends, families or situations you are aware of. This book is 30 declarations of faith paired with 30 prayers. I have prayed them each aloud and plan to do so again.

The 30 Declarations are:
Everything Is In God's Hands
I Am God's Precious Child
I Will Live in God's Faithfulness
I Will Be Free From Anxiety
I Will Declare God's Truths
I Declare I Will Pray More
I Will Be Grateful To God
I Will Glorify God By Testifying
I Will Have An Abundant Explosion of God's Favor
My Only Addiction Is To The Lord
I Am Anointed By God
The Bible Teaches Righteousness
I Will Use Words Wisely
God Can Breakthrough Anything
God's Destiny For My Life Will Prevail
My Body Is God's Temple
Jesus Is My Savoir and Friend
I Am Justified By Faith
I Am Blessed With Spiritual Gifts
I Will Ignite My Passion For God
I Will Chose Faith Over Fear
I Will Be Bold and Stretch My Faith
I Choose to be Calm in the Storm
I Will Build People Up
I Will Be Active for the Lord Rather Than Passive
I am Forgiven
God is My Healer
I Have A Sound Mind Grounded in God's Truth
I Will Thank the Lord for Adversity by Singing Praises
Nothing Will Separate Me From God Almighty

Reading this book took me back to when I was new at being serious about being a Christian, it reminded me of books by Bill Bright and Neil T. Anderson, Billy Hybels and more. It is a short book with prayers that have the power to transform your life. This was an amazing little book and I look forward to reading more from Glenn in the near future and I am already rereading and praying this one. And to be honest you cannot beat the price points on the ebooks by Glenn.

Chocolate Mint Protein Smoothie - Smoothie Saturday - Stacey Morris Guest Post

Chocolate Mint Protein Smoothie

Guest post by Stacey Morris from staceymorris.com.

I've kept 180 lbs. off for 4 years by knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.  If I'm truly craving a dessert, I have it and move on. But for the vague and ordinary craving for sugar, this works beautifully!  It's loaded with protein, calcium, antioxidants, and other nutrients, and I adore it as an afternoon snack or a post-workout boost. Check out your area health food store or the internet for superfoods.  My favorite brand is Navitas Naturals.

Chocolate Mint Protein Smoothie

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop protein powder
(my favorites: Plant Fusion vanilla or Jay Robb's Egg White protein powder)
2 Tbs. raw cacao nibs
1/8 tsp. peppermint extract
1 Tbs. Maca (a superfood powder)
1 Tbs. raw cacao powder
Handful of baby spinich
Optional: 3-4 ice cubes

 (Without spinich.)

Check back next Saturday for another great Smoothie recipe and remember I collect mine and favourites from around the web you can find them shared here in an EverNote notebook with like to original sources.

Manduka Black Mat Pro - A Review

Black Mat Pro
Manduka
ASIN B0000DZFXZ

I have owned a number of workout mats over the years, and up until now my favourites were either by Gaiam or from Beachbody. I currently have 6 mats in the house from 4 different manufactures. When I asked for a $100 exercise mat for Christmas my wife thought I was a little nuts. But since I have spent over 150 hours practising exercise in the last 6 months I felt it was worth the investment. From all that I had heard the Manduka was the best of the best. I must admit I had very high expectations when I got this mat and it has exceeded them all. Diamond Dallas Page the creator of DDP only uses these mats and after using one for more than a month now I can see why.

On the Manduka site the specifications for this Mat are:

  • 7.0 lbs; 71" long; 26" wide; 1/4" thick
  • 9.0 lbs; 85" long; 26" wide; 1/4" thick
  • Zero-waste, sustainable exercise mat
  • Backed by a Lifetime Guarantee
  • Superior wear and longevity
  • Comfortably cushions spine, hips, knees, and elbows on hard floors
  • Slip resistant, yet non-sticky, even when wet from light perspiration
  • Provides stability on hard or soft surfaces
  • Oeko-Tex certified, emissions-free manufacturing
  • 100% latex free, and safe to use for people with latex sensitivities

I had originally asked for the Pro Lite but received the Pro, I was glad for this mix up. I was concerned about constantly carrying around the extra weight but the comfort more than makes up for it. My wife who wondered at spending $100 on a exercise mat, now complains when I take it to work for classes there, because it means it will not be at home for her to use. My only regret now is that I did not get the longer one, but maybe I will and pass mine on to my wife. I once heard Arthur Boorman asked in an interview if the Manduka was worth the price, he stated it was so good his son has asked that it be left to him in his will. I have also head others say you can pry the mat from my cold dead hands.  It is the best dam mat on the planet!
