A Lenten Prayer
Loving God
You walk with us always
In times of joy and sorrow,
Strength and weakness,
Work and rest
As we journey through Lent,
Open our hearts to be filled with your love
Open our eyes to see Your hope for us
Open our hands to do Your work
Give us patience in our fast
Help us to set aside those things in our lives
That distract us from You
Help us to see in one another
The face of Your Son, Jesus
Give us hope in our prayers,
Help us to see Your vision for us,
Filled with love and peace
Help us to know that we are never alone,
That you are always there for us
Give us compassion in our alms giving
Help us to see that in providing for one another,
We truly provide for You
Help us to share our plenty with those who have little,
That we may ease the suffering of someone else
We ask all of these things through Your Son,
The one who walks with us always.
