1st Sunday of Advent 2017
Today is the first Sunday of Advent. Today's readings at mass are:
First Reading Isaiah 63:16b-17; 64:1, 2-8
Responsorial Psalm 8-:1,2, 15-15, 17,18
Second Reading 1 Corinthians 1:3-9
Gospel Mark 13:33-37
The Church year has begun. It is a new beginning. A time of hope, a time of preparation and a time of reflection. What hit me most about today's readings was Paul's letter, he often begins with greetings or salutations. But this letter begins with "Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." And that is my hope this season. Grace and peace to you and your family. Grace to grow in Him and his ways. Grace to experience His love. Grace to see the new beginning, and the grace to hope.
