This book was hard to read
And in many ways harder to review
It was recommended by a 25 year old
daughter I did not know I had
And was not an easy topic to read about
My brother died from an overdose less than a year before I started reading
Often I read a book a day
This took me weeks
Even though written in poetry
The story is powerful
Deeply moving
At times gut wrenching
As a father of daughters
And brother of an addict
The book was not easy reading
I cannot help but think of my three daughters, my son
Nieces, nephews, even my 16 year old sister
Other kids that are friends of the family
Children I know from the schools my kids attend
Reading this really opened my eyes
To my brothers addiction
And addictions in general
It was a hard read
But well worth it
And I
