Pay It Forward - Tony Horton One on One Volume 2 Bonus Disk

When I first started writing reviews of the Tony Horton One on Ones I was not planning on reviewing this disk. The first time I watched it I was a little offended and shocked. Tony does a workout with a man named Brian Day who is over 400lbs and has not worked out in over 10 years. If someone had given this to me over a year ago I would have punched him in the face. On first watching it, all I could think is, by giving this to someone you're saying: "You're a fat slob and this is your last hope; get off the couch and do something." But after a few months I went back and watched it
again, and actually did the workout with Tony and Brian. This 25 minute workout is low impact, and low intensity; they also constantly recommend using a heart rate monitor. In some ways it reminds me of Susan Powter's Stop the Insanity where she stresses just start moving.

For someone really out of shape this workout will be a beginning point. I still don't think I would just give this to anyone, but if someone asked me about my weight loss, or asked about a starting point and needed to lose 100+ pounds I would feel comfortable recommending this workout. Also, Tony is not his usual self in this work out. He often jokes, is a little self-deprecating and a little sarcastic. In P90X or the other One on Ones, except for one joke after Brian makes one, he is very serious, thus taking seriously the consequences of being majorly overweight. I think it would be great if Tony actually created a series for those at this starting point.

One on One by Tony Horton is a workout series that you can either choose individual workouts to purchase or on a subscription where you get a new DVD each month. It's just Tony mostly working out in his home gym at his pace. There is less talk and instruction than his standard series and it moves at a quicker pace and has fewer breaks. They are also intended for people in good shape already, or graduates of Power90, P90X, or other Beachbody or other fitness programs.

I found your blog while looking up Brian Day, as I would love to know how he's doing now! I have been enjoying this workout very much and did not realize there are two? Or three? I agree that a series like this would be EXCELLENT!!!! I keep injuring myself thinking I can do more than I am capable of, so this is a nice, safe start.
